EMERALD ACADEMY ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY

  • Scholars with an interest in participating in athletics at Emerald Academy should earn grades that reflect college preparation. As a result, scholars who earn twos (2s) and threes (3s) will be allowed to participate on athletic teams. Scholars who earn ones (1s) prior to tryouts and/or during the season a sport is practiced or played will be ineligible to participate in athletics at Emerald Academy and will be encouraged to seek additional academic support from faculty and staff members as needed.

  • Consistent attendance is correlated with academic success. Scholars must attend school during the entire academic day to participate in any sports team meetings, practices, or games for that day.

  • Exemplary behavior is expected at Emerald Academy, and scholar-athletes will serve as ambassadors in the greater community as representatives of our school. However, scholar-athletes that compromise school rules may continue to participate in team meetings, practices, and/or games after suspensions are served. Scholars that repeatedly violate our honor code and school rules will be dismissed from our sports teams at the discretion of the School Leadership.
