Emerald Academy Receives Grant from Messer Construction Co. Foundation

Emerald Academy is grateful for the support of Messer Construction Co. Foundation, which recently awarded a $25,000 grant to Emerald Academy for improvements to the school’s gymnasium.

The foundation assists in carrying out Messer’s mission in fostering positive change within communities. They often support projects that focus on education and economic inclusion, usually involving a bit of construction magic! The goal is not just to create structures, but to build a better future through the empowerment of individuals and institutions.

“Educating the next generation of leaders is so important to us,” said Messer Vice President John Blum. “It is a privilege to serve scholars at Emerald Academy through this grant, and we look forward to seeing the improvements to the gymnasium when completed.”

Emerald Academy’s gym is a dynamic space for students, teachers, and parents, hosting a range of activities from sporting events to educational programs. The gym plays a crucial role in the school's efforts to nurture well-rounded scholars, positioning them for success in all facets of life.

Improvements to the gym will include a refinished floor, painted ceiling, and repairs to the stage. Messer’s generous grant is not just an investment in physical improvements; it's an investment in the future of education here at Emerald Academy.

Emerald Academy School Director, Carlissa Weeks, said, “This opportunity means so much to us because it's positively impacting our entire school body. This is just another way we can create an environment that benefits every scholar.”
